Lewis III
Otha Lewis is a pianist, musicologist, content creator, and teacher born and raised in Fresno, California, where he is currently based. In 2026 he graduated from California State University, Northridge with a Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance, programming Bach's Partita in D Major, Beethoven's Sonata Op 14 No 2, and word of Czerny spanning Op 754, 756, and 692. He brings a decade of private instruction to the work of building the Lewis House of Music while pursuing refining his musicianship and pedagogy.
His teaching is rooted in a rigorous classical tradition and shaped by individualized instruction, critical thinking, and each student's musical development. He aims to revive the pedagogy of Carl Czerny, particularly in the work to bring his Treatise on Pianoforte Playing, Opus 500, to life through a New English Translation and method. An active member of the Music Teacher's National Association, Otha remains locally and nationally involved beyond his online studio, teaching masterclasses judging competitions.
